Hello and welcome to my blog, Our Hopeful Home (formerly Charm Bracelet Diva {At Home}). I'm Kathleen, the writer, vintage jewelry artist and DIY home décor enthusiast behind it all. I live on Diet Coke, chocolate (preferably truffles), Earl Grey tea and the love of my family. I'm a lawyer turned stay-at-home mom of three with an incredible husband of twenty years and counting. I thrive on flea markets, thrift stores, barn sales, estate sales and good old junkin' trips, wherever they may lead me.
I started Charm Bracelet Diva {At Home} in 2009, mainly as a jewelry blog to chronicle my repurposed and vintage jewelry designs. But it quickly morphed into something more. I started to share my love of all things vintage, as well as thrifty DIY home décor, and the blog just grew from there. In 2017 I changed the blog name to Our Hopeful Home to reflect my ongoing journey in both blogging and life.
While I still enjoy making vintage jewelry (you can learn more about my process here) the blog focuses almost exclusively on my thrifting excursions and vintage finds, and what I ultimately end up doing with them in and around my home.
If I had to categorize my style I would say it's shabby chic-farmhouse with a touch of French thrown in for good measure. I've always been one for a good, inexpensive and easy knock-off, and I love sharing them with you via step-by-step tutorials. I also share my junking finds, repurposed projects, DIY home décor and even an occasional recipe and flower gardening tips. Oh, and hydrangeas. Plenty of hydrangeas.
I'm very excited that you stopped by! I hope you'll continue to come back and see what I've been up to. You never know what you'll find!
