Saintly Vintage Charm Necklace

November 7, 2010

It's been difficult to find the time to create these days, what with Irish dance competitions, Halloween and birthdays (not to mention the slumber party of pre-teen girls here Friday night!)  So I'm really happy that I have something to show for myself.  My-self.  It's an interesting concept when you're a mom.  And a really important one.

Saint Benedict steals the limelight on this one.

I combined a tassel from a vintage costume jewelry necklace with a vintage rhinestone earring-turned-charm and a crucifix from a vintage rosary.  Then I added the flea market St. Benedict medal.

Freshwater pearls, rhinestone balls, faceted black beads and faceted smoky glass crystal rondelles round out the necklace.  It's another one of those that I'll be hard-pressed to list in my Etsy shop. because I want to wear it!  What's that about, anyway?  Am I the only one with this affliction?  Please tell me that I'm not alone ~ how do you part with favored treasures you've created?

I need to restock the shop to get ready for Somewhat Simple's Studio Boutique Holiday 2010, which opens on BLACK FRIDAY and goes through the following Tuesday.  Five days of shopping in your pajamas!  Deals abound ~ I'll be offering free shipping.  Who knows what other great buys are just waiting to be snatched up!  I'll remind you again as the days draw closer.  Thanksgiving is only 18 days away!  Yikes!  Next thing you know Christmas muzak will be playing everywhere you go......I can't even think about it at this point ~ lol.

Have a great week!

Really like the necklace!
I have given a couple of necklaces away, that I wished later I had kept.
Have a great week.

I think that is why
I don't make as many
of my gifts as I should...
After putting in so much
of yourself, it must be
hard to let it go!! {Kind
of liking launching kid-lets
into the world....Only a
few years away for my oldest;
yikes!} Your work is beautiful
as is your sweet spirit, which
comes through in your posts.
Thank you for stopping by today,
Kathleen!
Hugs,
xx Suzanne
