I'm really excited to share with you some vintage finds that made it into the ranks of bedroom decor today. I bought these beauties a few months ago and was waiting for the right time to hang them. Guess that was today.
Before I hung them over one of the dressers, there was a REALLY BADLY DEAD (trust me, there are no better words to describe it) dried flower wreath hanging there for almost seven a few years. I scoped out the internet for pictures of REALLY dead dried flower wreaths and can you imagine ~ I couldn't find any images?! (Guess that's because most people don't leave the same dried flower wreath hanging for almost seven a few years.) I will say, though, that it was made {by me} of roses given to me by Mr. CBD. Sigh. Lots of sentiment for me, but way too long to be up there, SO:
Okay, so this one's a teaser. You know I had to hang up something MORE THAN THAT....but let me tell you how happy I was with this $.99 Club G.W. score! I'm such a sucker for the Victorian ladies. Sorry I don't have a close-up of the plate but you'll have to trust me on this one, it's fabulous!
I have to admit, though, that it did need some company so here you go:
Can you believe it? I found these gilded candle sconces on the same day! When I first picked them up I had plans to spray paint them white, but once I got them home I realized that I L-O-V-E-D them just the way they are! Another Club G.W. purchase, total: $6.00.
And as much as I'd love to keep the dresser clear of clutter, it ain't gonna happen in this house! SO, reality check:
Still not too shabby, no? Well, a bit shabby, but not THAT kind of shabby, oh, you know what I mean! I couldn't be happier with the result. I put in used candles because for some reason that seemed like the right thing to do at the time. Oh, and the photo in the white frilly frame? That's a picture of me and my dad dancing at my wedding 15 years ago. Seems to fit right in, don't you think?
Now you're probably wondering what this Queen of Toile stuff is about. Here's a sneak peek:
I'm beginning to think that it really is a disease, this toile affliction I have. I'll be sharing more on it over the next few days. Do you toile?
Bonne chance, mes amis.
