Tuesday's Club G.W. with Charm Bracelet Diva No.2

July 4, 2011

Well, the first Club G.W. with Charm Bracelet Diva Party is a thing of the past.  Thanks to all who participated!  The party wasn't large, but it WAS chock full of them Goodwill finds!

Before we start the next party I thought I'd showcase a few entries from Party No.1.......I wish I could mention each one as they were all fantastic examples of thrifting at it's finest!

First off is this awesome redesign from Rosemary at Villabarnes. You've got to see her blog to believe her talent!  This chair was SO rescued (you've gotta see it's BEFORE pic) and the linen fabric with blue ticking is one of my all-time favorites!

This monogrammed picnic basket was a great find by Madison of Madison Makes.  She thinks
she might be addicted to storage solutions....I think she has a great eye for fabulous finds.  I can think of a hundred uses for this basket in my house right now!  Love the basket, and just love how her finds  are called "car boot loot" on her side of the pond!  (Maybe I should call this the Car Boot Loot Party? lol)

Vanna at Delusions of Grandeur takes the cake for both volume and diversity of flea market finds.  You have to stop over there and see them all to believe it!  She snagged a ton of stuff including an inkwell (apparently a wildly amazing snag, check it out), a barometer, a funky Japanese lamp from Goodwill (my favorite!) and much more.

Finally, Kim over at Cheap Chic Home shared an amzing Club. G.W. find that anybody would have turned the car around for!  You did good, Kim!

If you made it into this week's features as a Club G.W. Diva, go on and grab a Featured Button, at the top of my right sidebar!

Now on to my own Club G.W. find and re-do for this week.

I have to admit that I thought this mirror was hideous when I first saw it (with potential, of course) but now I'm not so sure....but I guess that ship has sailed since it's been transformed!

Chickadee number one found it during our weekly visit to the local Club G.W.

Once I got it home and inspected it I realized that the black border around the mirror wasn't black paint, it was ~ wait for it ~ velvet.  Yes, I said velvet.  Pretty odd, I know.  Lucky for me it was starting to peel off in one corner so I gently started to peel it all back. I was half afraid that it would be cardboard or something underneath but it was bare wood.  Perfect for painting over!

And paint over it I did.

One coat of primer and two coats of Martha Stewart White followed by a bit of sandpaper distressing.  I was a happy camper.

It's for our recently revamped bathroom (post-septic system back-up and flood, ugh I know) and I'm excited that we'll be hanging it this weekend.  I can't wait to show you it in all its glory once the rest of the bathroom decor overhaul is finished.  For now I'm satisfied with enjoying the beauty of our wildflowers.

Okay so now on to the real McCoy, YOUR link-ups!  Show us your thrifty finds and re-dos and let's see what makes your heart go pitter-patter!

Party Rules:

Link up any post, past or present, related to any Goodwill, thrift store, flea market, estate sale, barn sale, YOU NAME IT, find you would like to share. This includes any posts featuring thrifty find re-dos!

Be sure to link your thumbnail back to your original post’s URL and not just to your blog’s main address. (If you don't do this InLinkz will redirect you to correct it.)

Please either post the party’s button (grab it from my top right side bar) OR link back to the party somewhere in your post.

I WOULD LOVE FOR YOU TO BECOME A FOLLOWER
but it's not mandatory.

And try to visit other party guests, that’s what this is all about!

xoxo
