Buying store-bought flowers can become expensive. That's why I love being able to go out in the yard and cut myself some blooms right then and there. Just round up a container you already have lying around the house and you'll have a lovely, cheap and easy floral centerpiece in no time.
My hydrangeas and wildflowers from the garden look particularly nice together. Here they are sitting pretty on our farmhouse kitchen table in a thrift store wooden tool box. The plan is to paint the tool box white. I love how my other painted and stencilled tool box turned out, so I really do want to paint this one, too. The box fits just right on the DIY stencilled burlap table runner I hand-stenciled a while back. The runner has become one of my most favorite DIY projects of all time. It seems to go with everything.
Inside the box are three small vintage milk bottles that fit so perfectly I just had to use them for vases.
Isn't it darling? It was a real score - I picked it up roadside from a neighbor's house right before they moved. Along with 29 of it's closest friends in a fabulous vintage wire milk bin! I'll be sharing them in another post, you just gotta see 'em! I scored some other equally great stuff along with them, but that's for another day.
I'm so happy that we are not experiencing the drought this year that we did last year. Good rainfall makes for good hydrangeas!
Well, that's it until next time, friends!

A very pretty display - like the vintage milk bottles lined up in the box. Thanks for sharing.

Your flowers are so pretty in that cute little box. Looking forward to seeing all the other goodies you found.
