Bumper Crop of Hydrangeas

Dried hydrangeas vintage milk bottles

I was recently thrilled to find out that our hydrangea bushes are not, in fact, finished blooming for the year. Not only are they still blooming, they are also simultaneously drying. And they couldn't be more gorgeous. You can see the actual bushes in the background of this photo. There are so many hues -- greens, pinks and purples abound.

I love how they look in this rusty, vintage wire basket.

They really are spectacular. I have so many that I'm almost at a loss as to where to put them all!  Here are a few I placed in my Anthropologie Surroyal pitcher in the foyer.

There are many more displayed all around the house.

I truly just can't get enough of them, and it's so nice to know that I'm totally set for the winter. How about you? Are you a hydrangea nut like me or do you prefer some other flower? Just leave a comment and let me know!

Well, that's it until next time, friends!

  1. I love hydrangeas too, but I hate gardening. Your's are lovely.

I'm sorry that I am responding to your question about the paint sprayer here, but for some reason I don't receive some peoples comments in email format, only on the blog (although I have notification turned on).

The sprayer I is definitely easy to use. It is the Wagner Control Spray Double Duty and the reviews on it are tremendous. I have only used latex paint in it, so can't speak of other finishes, but it's easy peasy.

  7. Another gorgeous batch of hydrangeas. My sister-in-lay gave me a bunch of them last week and I've been trying to dry them. So far only 2 look good, but it's a start.
Will be thinking about you at your show this weekend. Hope you sell tons.

  8. What a nice surprise! I love how you staged them in the glass bottles of the first pic! I just planted my first Endless Summer hydrangea (in fact my first hydrangea at this home) late last Summer. It didn't do much last year but it sure came to life this year. I'm so happy with it and glad it is still blooming shades of blue!

  9. Yours are beautiful. Mine are all drying a little on the brown side but I still love them. We can't winter them over but they are so fun to get and have as annuals. I just used my few last ones in my tablescape.

  10. They're so beautiful!! I love hydrangeas and would love to grow them and dry them. But they don't do well in our area (Dallas).
