Decorating with Moss and Natural Filler

Well, my trusty vintage toolbox is at it again!

Some of you might remember when I used it to create a fall farmhouse table centerpiece.

Then I turned it into a lovely Christmas floral centerpiece.

Well, I guess it's time for wishful thinking (can you say S-P-R-I-N-G?) because I've gone and created yet another seasonal vignette.  This time with Dollar Store moss rocks and natural vase filler, also from the Dollar Store.

After the farmhouse table shots which were not very well-lit, I took a few more in the much brighter living room.

It's amazing what a little light can do.  It really shows off the spectacular greens.

The "rocks" and all the white and natural-colored filler came from the Dollar Store.  The mossy balls I picked up at Hobby Lobby with 40% off coupons.  I think the large one ended up costing like $3.50, while the smaller two were even cheaper.
.

I also added pine cones that the kids collected from the yard way before the infamous Polar Vortex descended upon the midwest with all it's cold, wind and snow.

I really love how it turned out, it's such a pretty harbinger of spring.  And boy, we could definitely use more of that!  My kids will be home from school yet again for the next two days due to seriously subzero temperatures.  By the time spring rolls around I will be more than happy to be moving on.

Well that's it for today, friends!

  1. I'm a winter girl, but we don't have the snow that you have. I love this vignette! It's so pretty and reminds me of Spring. I'm decorating for Valentine's Day, which I usually don't do. I'm actually using red in my decor; it's very different for me!

  6. That looks really great! The green is a good color- anything but the white outdoors! Our schools are closed too because of the severe cold and snow we got over the weekend. Stay warm!
