I have such an easy decorating idea for you today. You may already be familiar with this and some other DIY gilded chalkboards I made a while ago. And all the ways I've used it thus far to add just the right touch to my faux mini-mantle when it's needed that extra sumptin-sumptin around certain holidays.
For Christmas:
For Christmas:
And most recently for Easter:
The word for the day is V-E-R-S-A-T-I-L-E.
Well, I've just gone and added a new look to it.
Nothing fancy. Just plain old Welcome. And a capital "A" for our family name initial. And you can never go wrong with that boxwood wreath. I think this works well for us right now as we try and make the house welcoming but not too "personal" for prospective buyers. You can see where I copied the font from here.
I tried the look with some of my myrtle topiaries, which I love! You can see where I talk about them here.
I really do love experimenting with vignettes on my faux mini-mantle of sorts. I think this one is my favorite so far.
Which one is YOUR favorite?

Just something about a chalkboard that's hard to resist. I love them!
ReplyDeleteI really like it - so versatile. I am another one that likes boxwood.
ReplyDeleteBeen thru that "depersonalizing your home" a few times myself, so know what you are dealing with.
Enjoy your weekend!
Just such a cute idea. I really love them all but my favorite is the Happy Easter one! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteIt looks great, I'll have to give it a try. It looks so good with the wreath.

They're all so creative, but I think my favorite is the peace sign.

I've always loved chalkboards, and love having something to change with the seasons or holidays. The boxwood wreath is a great touch. I used a alphabet stencil on my chalkboard, and everyone asked how I did it...Just the cardboard sets you can get at the Wally mart or Michael's.
ReplyDeleteMy handwriting is not as good as yours;-). Remembering your yard in the spring, bet it's beautiful right now... take care. Love, Penny
For me it's the myrtle topiries love the look with the boxwood wreath...very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I can pick a favorite...I like all of them. You will be featured at this weeks party.
