Old.
Worn out.
Loved.
Cherished.
Chippy.
Shabby.
Anyone who has followed me for any length of time knows that.
But I feel like I've managed to get away from the "vintage"
aspect of this blog somewhat, and I want to get back to it.
One way of doing that is to share with you my
thrift store
flea market
barn sale
estate sale
and any-other-sale
F.I.N.D.S.
I'm going to try to make it a Friday thing,
hence my post name "Friday Finds."
I'm going to try to make it a Friday thing,
hence my post name "Friday Finds."
And don't worry.
I do realize that it's actually Sunday.
But I didn't want to wait until next Friday
to share this with you!
Today I'm sharing a champagne bucket and trophy/loving cup
that I picked up at an estate sale last weekend.
And a perfectly chippy,
shabby, old ladder.
Aren't these leaves gorgeous?
Courtesy of my front yard!
I'm in love with the look of this baby pumpkin inside the silver cup.
So what would you do with this awesome ladder?
Should I paint it or leave it as is?
I've gone back and forth on the question myself.
Whether I paint it or not I'm sure it will eventually
end up as another one of my many home décor projects.
SO:
To paint or not to paint?
What would you do?
And what would you use the ladder for?
You can always stop by my "Ladders" Pinterest Board for inspiration!

So excited about your Friday Finds posts. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the wide top on your latter. I recently saw one used as ax simple side table. With that great top it would be lovely!!
Have a happy week...
Sherri
I love that silver cup/trophy! Wow!!!
ReplyDeleteI really love your little ladder, too. If I were using it inside I would probably paint it---but that's me. If I were going to use it on a porch I would probably leave it as is.
I think it would make a cute little stand for a fern or a plant of some sort. You will know when you move it around where it belongs!;>) xo Diana
Kathleen, you always find the best treasures at thrift stores and estate sales! Our estate sales and thrift stores are far too expensive. Your silver trophy is perfect to display your pumpkin. I also adore your champagne bucket with the gorgeous Fall leaves. Our leaves haven't turned yet. I think I would paint the ladder. It is a great piece and I can't wait to see how you use it.
ReplyDeleteTrophy and bucket are real nice finds. The Fall leaves are so pretty. The ladder? I would probably paint - I think. Coffee has not kicked in this morning so not good at decisions. LOL
ReplyDeleteLoving the silver bucket you found, you are a gal I need for some good shopping luck!!
ReplyDeleteYou did good! Love the pumpkin inside the champagne bucket, it will be great for Christmas too with a tree inside. I would probably paint the the ladder.
ReplyDeleteI would do like Sherri said and use it as a table, or a plant stand.
ReplyDeleteLove the silver urn/champagne bucket/trophy cup...doesn't matter the proper name, it is gorgeous! I can see a beautiful fern or ivy in it.
ReplyDeleteAs to the ladder, I would leave it as is for now and use it as a plant stand.
Have a wonderful week, Kathleen.
In all my time thrifting I have never found a trophy, and I've been looking! I think Friday is a great day to show your treasures! I'd paint that ladder...did you know that the Hob Lob carries chalk paint and you can use your coupon? great finds my friend...Love, Penny
ReplyDeleteI think you should use the ladder for displaying your Friday finds! I pick them up anytime I see them and usually give them a dry brush coat of paint. The champagne bucket was a great find!

Wonderful selection in your find. The ladder for that special piece of cloth the trophies for an beautiful selection of flowers.. . . . enjoy, enjoy.
ReplyDeleteLots of blessings from South Africa
ReplyDeleteBeautiful find. Love the decor. Inspiring. Lots of love from India and Sujatha:)
Oh man, to paint or not to paint...that is THE question. I like the paint splatters and the look of the existing wood, but man it would look cute painted. A Beautiful Mess just painted one in yellow and converted it into a plant shelf and it's too stinkin' cute! Found you on Mod Vintage Life =) Kyla @ http://houseofhipsters.com
ReplyDeleteNothing says rustic style like a chippy ladder and some silver!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds-especially that trophy!! The ladder is fun either way :)
ReplyDeleteSusan
Great finds! I'd make it a side table I think, or flower stand. Very nice trophy, too!
