Springtime in the midwest seems to have been short-lived, as the
temperature's been dipping down to freezing over night.
Last night we lost our garden tomato and bean plants to the
unwelcome frost. We can only hope it's back to spring temps tonight.
I'd hate to lose any more plants.
I haven't been doing much thrifting lately, what with homeschooling and dealing
with the flu in our house (which we're still battling). But that's okay because I've
really been wanting to create jewelry, which is unusual for this time of year when
I'm normally hankering to paint some old furniture out in the garage. Even though
my local Goodwill stores have pretty much stopped selling jewelry, there were
a couple things I was happy to bring home.

I fell in love with these vintage pearl cluster dangle earrings.
I loved the mix of pearls with amber and gold beads,
with a little hint of aurora borealis going on.

I thought the mirror's gold frame complimented their colors quite well.
Of course the mirror is a Goodwill find as well.

I also found some green mother of pearl shells.
At least that's what I'm going to call them.
The pictures don't show the green color very well,
but I was very excited to find them since I can
use them in my Irish dance charm bracelets.

I'm always on the lookout for anything unique that I can use in my jewelry creations.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do with these earrings yet.
Should I sell them in my Etsy shop "as is" or
should I use them for "parts" in some other creations?
I can't decide!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Oh those earrings really do hold so much possibility. Your creations are always so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend dear one.
I would have grabbed those too, so pretty. I'll send you some of our weather except for the rain we're expecting tonight. We sure need it.
ReplyDeleteLots of possibilities in the necklace and earrings.
ReplyDeleteSpring weather seems to have been crazy every where this year. Would send you some of mine, but we are expecting storms here tonight.:\
Enjoy your weekend.
Kathlenn,
ReplyDeleteI can read your comments quite clearly but just wanted to say that your print comes through so small and faint that I am having a hard time reading it. Your side bar is easy enough to read so not sure what is happening.
That being said- Love your post as always- xo Diana
Kathleen, you found some treasures! I would keep them because they're so pretty! Sending well wishes for your recovery- the flu has been so bad this year.
ReplyDeleteLove the earrings! I was thinking - if you are having cold weather and we are having an unexpected heat wave, if only could meet in the middle and both have decent weather.
