I kid you not, people. I snagged four - count 'em four - Ralph Lauren down throw pillows for $.99 each at my local Club G.W. (that's Goodwill for the uninitiated). I have to say that when I first saw them I was thinking strictly along the lines of down pillow inserts only. But after inspecting them closely I could tell that they were like-new Ralph Lauren goose down throw pillows. And they were marked $.99 each.
Insert angels singing here. I knew then that I absolutely had to have them. I have to admit that I thought someone had mistakenly marked them the wrong price. Even the lady at the checkout took a second look. But the planets were aligned because I got my pillows for an incredible price.
I've been wanting to add some pops of color to our family room for some time now, only I've been a scaredy cat about it. I've always been one of those I-love-white shabby chic fans. Until now. I have just been craving c-o-l-o-r like nobody's business! Enter the fuschia Ralph Lauren pillows. Such a lovely summer color that I could not resist. And the price, well.....it was almost my duty to buy them.
Here they are in all their glory.
So either I've been duped or I've gotten one of the better deals of the century.
Thrilled is not the word for it. And not only did I add the bright fuschia pillows, but I also added a blue tray that pops all on its own.
Can you see the lovely distressed blue tray? I'll be sharing more about it in another post but I added it here for another one of those "pops" of color.
At some point in the photo shoot I added one of my Ikea faux sheepskin rugs for effect. And apparently our dog Riley felt that it was her duty to photo bomb the picture. Gotta love sneaky dogs.
You can see that the background wall is a very {ugh} golden mustard color. So any other colors we can add to the room are a bonus. I've been talking about my gallery wall project for a long time now. It's been a long, arduous process but I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Maybe. Sigh. Note: See the paper ampersand on the wall. It's been there for a month while I decide whether or not to put up the real one there. Why am I finding this so difficult?
Nautical doorstops are the real deal. I found these at the end of the season last summer at Hobby Lobby. Clearance, and right up my alley. I've wanted some of these guys for a long time. I absolutely love them.
So, what do you think? Did I get a great deal or what?
I'm tickled pink and thank my lucky stars that the Goodwill gods were looking down on me that day. Are you a fan of white or are you a color hound? Do tell. Here's one last look.
Well, that's it until next time, friends!

Wow, how beautiful and such a great price. Lovely in you home for sure.
ReplyDeleteWow, how beautiful and such a great price. Lovely in you home for sure.
ReplyDeleteDid you try to find out how much they cost new? That's my favorite thing about a bargain such as this. They are lovely and a summer pop of color for sure. Happy picking! Love, Penny
ReplyDeleteWow, these are great! They look so pretty on your sofa! The pink Hydrangeas are gorgeous too! You just amaze me with your GW deals! We rarely have those deals. You can count on our GW marking them up as much as they cost in the store. Great find!
ReplyDeleteThose pillows are gorgeous!! What a steal. Your gallery wall is coming right along--I say go for the ampersand. I just bought a gold "P" at Goodwill and am looking for just the right spot to put it :)
ReplyDeleteLove these pillows. They're gorgeous and the price was certainly right. I love when I find a great deal at Goodwill. Love the gallery wall and think the ampersand is perfect. Cathy
ReplyDeleteI have to concur with one of your other commentors, our GW will hike up price as high as they can. Seems we've been paying for their new bldg. for way too long now. It's ridiculous. Come on people it's a thrift store. I won't go buy anything any more unless it's on senior day with 15% off. Same goes for Habitat, their prices keep climbing. Only go there on Tues. sr day and Thursday for vet discount. Our local thrift store has no discounts at all and their prices are getting higher all the time, too often higher than store charges. They don't like it when I make comment about prices, too darned bad. I buy and donate alot of stuff to them. I ask them who in heck is doing the pricing. Disgruntled senior. Happy weekend
ReplyDeleteI'd say you DID get the deal of the century. You can't even go into a craft store and buy a pillow insert for that! I'm thinking it's time to add the real &. It will be perfect!
ReplyDeleteWhat a find! Love the pop of color they provide ~ such inexpensive way to add it! Sadly I must admit that although I adore pictures of all white decor...I'm a color hound!!!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE your pops of color. For me a plain background is only a backdrop for GREAT color/prints! In clothing, I only wear black so it sets off the hot pink, purple, turquoise, yellow, orange, lime, etc. tops that I love. When you get such a bargain, it IS your DUTY to get them, dress up you home, then pass them on when you tire of them or get something better (I doubt it!) comes along! In areas with long winters, (at least my) spirits need lifting with color!
