Friday Finds: Vintage Edition #9 {Saugatuck Antique Pavilion}

July 18, 2015

I've been a bit AWOL lately due to our recent two-week family vacation. I love the beach,
and seeing family, but it's nice to be home. Sigh. That being said, I can't wait to share with
you some of the cool vintage finds I picked up along the way in Saugatuck, MI.

We started off at one of the Midwest's premiere antique malls, Saugatuck Antique Pavilion.
It's on Blue Star Highway, just outside of Saugatuck. And man, did I have fun there
just sauntering around and taking in all the awesomeness that is Midwest vintage!

One of the first things I saw when I entered the place was this very cool retro cake carrier.
What farmhouse kitchen would be complete without one? And it's pink, people!

I just couldn't help showing off more of my prized hydrangeas. Pretty in pink!

Can't you just imagine the places this vintage cake carrier has been? And all the luscious
treats it's carried? It wasn't in perfect condition, as is the case with many well-loved vintage
items (it had a ding), but for $10.00 I thought it was just perfect for me. After some
investigation I found out that it was definitely worth more, and it seems like the painted
ones, like this one, are the most expensive. Score!

Next is a silver horse trophy that I couldn't believe I was lucky enough to stumble upon.
I have wanted a vintage silver trophy for so long but they are SO expensive.
Enter mine for $6.75.

There's an engraved name and date: 1977. So yeah, it's vintage. It's also PLASTIC (with a
marble base). Gotcha! No one's the wiser for it, and I can be happy that I finally got my silver
trophy. Enough said. It's engraved: Lor Bar Ranch 1977. To me, that's what makes it special.

I got a few other goodies on the trip but I'm saving them for another day. Can you say
vintage toys, vintage jewelry and vintage globes?

I have to say that Saugatuck is more than worth the trip.
Shops galore and a beautiful lakeside town.
What more can you ask for in the summer in the Midwest?
