They're heeeeerrrre! The first beautiful hydrangea blooms of the season have appeared and I could not be happier! I just had to share them with you, both indoors and out.
For starters I put them in a vintage milk bottle. Then I placed them on my patio table and just soaked in their beauty during a sweet summer sunset. It's one of my favorite times of the day.
I'm not sure what the other purple flowers are called, but we have a bush in full bloom right now so I added them to the mix.
We get mostly pink hydrangeas, due to the nature of the soil here. But I do appreciate the subtle differences in the hue. Here I love how they seem to reflect the light.
Here's a close-up of the small, vintage milk bottle I used as a vase. I use these types of bottles often as vases. They're practical with a twist - they also have vintage charm! This bottle says "Sangamon Dairy Products." It's from a dairy of the same name in Springfield, IL.
I have many more vintage milk bottles that I use for vases and other fun things, even drinking from them.
Here's how I displayed them in the house.
Aren't they just gorgeous?
I never get tired of looking at them.
Sigh.
Hopefully I'll have a surprise for you soon once the flower garden is officially in bloom.
For now, here's a sneak peek.
I absolutely can not wait until I can cut fresh flowers from the garden! I know that I'll be using my vintage milk bottles again for sure.
How about you?
Do you have any special tricks you like
to use when you display fresh flowers?
Well, that's it for today, friends!

Your hydrangeas are gorgeous, and you know I love those vintage bottles!!
They are beautiful, as well as the other flowers. Thanks for sharing them.
Kathleen- I love your "vases". I love old milk bottles but only have a couple of them. Do you know we can still get milk delivered in glass milk bottles here in Wisconsin? I love a cutting garden, too, but don't have any to cut this year.
Enjoy your week- xo Diana
Your pink hydrangeas are just gorgeous!!! How fun AND cute TO serve an iced drink in those vintage milk bottles!
I love how a small bouquet can make a big impact - a lovely bright spot of color.
