I'm going to get right to it so here goes: First up is a darling miniature silver plated pitcher I got from Goodwill for $1.99. When I bought it I knew I wanted to use it for a vase. So why not put the last cuttings of my summer flower garden in it?
Just look at the intricate detail on this pitcher. It's another reason I was drawn to it.
I've always loved detailed handles.
Next up is a small rectangular cutting board. I've been looking for cutting boards for a while in my thrift store excursions, but no go until this past week. I'm hoping to gather a few to display in the kitchen. It technically may not be vintage, but it's definitely pre-owned and will be repurposed!
I particularly liked the shape of this one, and its handle with the leather loop for hanging.
I also found this awesome book for my vintage book collection at the local church rummage sale.
I was bummed that the dust jacket had stuck to the front cover of the book, leaving some white marks behind. But otherwise it was in great condition considering how old it is. Besides, we all love those vintage imperfections, right? Another thing that sealed the deal for me was that when I looked inside it fell open to my absolute favorite poem of all time entitled "The Road Not Taken." If you've never read it, take a look.
And not only that, but the previous owner had written a comment at the bottom of the page. Finding it, I felt like I was learning something private about Robert Frost that I never knew, especially as it relates to this poem.
I can't sign off without reminding you of my exciting news (in case you missed it)! Starting next Thursday, October 15, 2015, I'll be joining in as co-hostess of a brand new Vintage Charm link party, and I really hope you'll be a part of it!

Robert Frost is also a favorite of mine. In fact I love all your finds and would have purchased them myself.
How awesome is that pitcher, board and book. Those are all the items I have been looking for as well. I hope to find them in my shopping trip to Goodwill.

What a beautiful pitcher and flowers too. Hope your weekend is a good one. I have a big show on Sunday, so it will be all work and no play.

Enjoyed seeing your vintage pitcher.
Kathleen, your pretty pitcher with those zinnias is perfection! What a treasure to find that Robert Frost book too! Blessings, Cecilia
