Last year after Easter I picked up a "carton" of wonderful plain white decorating eggs. I was thrilled to find them in my stash this year and couldn't wait to get started on decorating them. I mulled over a ton of options, and after much thought ended up going with the simplest idea of all: using stamps and vintage-inspired ink. It's times like these that I'm thankful for my past life as a scrapbooker! I had everything I needed to get started.

I started off with the eggs. The package label says they're plastic, but I didn't think they felt anything like plastic at all. They looked and felt more like paper mache to me (which I liked).

You can always use whatever words you'd like, but I chose to use some true Easter words:

Risen/Alleluia/Jesus/Grace/Easter/Live

I used my rubber alphabet stamps and a Tim Holtz Distress Ink pad in "tea dye" for a more vintage look.

I toyed with the idea of coloring the eggs as well but decided they made more of a statement in plain white. I felt I had enough color between the Easter confetti I was using and the gorgeous Pioneer Woman flea market ceramic measuring bowls they were displayed in. I also loved them displayed in my ceramic egg holder.

I loved the combination of the plain, vintage look of the eggs with the more modern and colorful look that the bowls brought to the vignette.

I mean, what's not to love?

I really can't believe Easter is right around the corner, can you? It's so odd that it falls only 10 days after St. Patrick's Day this year! I still have Easter cupcakes to make. Hopefully I can share them with you but I have a feeling that time is running out for that!

Well, that's it until next time!
