10 Awesome Fall Decorating Ideas

Well, it looks like summer is really on its way out. Those of us who love fall are rejoicing in the cooler, less humid weather. Not to mention looking forward to bonfires, porches decorated with pumpkins, and beautiful fall foliage. Since my life as of late has been filled with everything that is kitchen painting-related, I have not given one ounce of thought to changing things up around the house and adding some fall decor. Shame on me, I know! But never fear, I'm still able to bring you some awesome fall decorating ideas to spark the inner fall-lover in you!

Carolyn from Homework shows off her crafting and table decorating skills by way of her Cork & Feather Place Cards that would be just perfect for your Thanksgiving table. Simple and inexpensive, yet rustic and refined all in one!

Jamie over at Anderson + Grant shares her DIY Dry Brushed Chalk Painted Pumpkin tutorial. Her choice of paint colors, along with her own chalk paint recipe, come together in perfect harmony resulting in some awesome blue and green colored pumpkins. Blue pumpkins are my absolute favorite! How about you?

If you're looking for a non-traditional way to decorate with pumpkins this year, a must read is Jennifer Priest's DIY Pumpkin Centerpiece with Fresh Flowers From Proflowers. I've always wanted to make my own pumpkin vase so maybe this will be my year! Just picture some white ones filled with hydrangeas! Swoon!

While on the topic of unique ways to decorate with pumpkins, I have to mention Barb of the everyday home's Pumpkin Succulent Planter! Succulents are still so IN, and what better way to showcase them than in a hollowed-out pumpkin? She adds apples and wild grapevine to round out the display. Doesn't it look fabulous on the blue chest in her breakfast room?

Looking for an easy, inexpensive DIY fall sign project? Check out Amy at StowandTellU's Chalkboard Painted Box Lids tutorial. All you need are some shoe box lids and some chalkboard paint. Who knew you could paint on cardboard? Genius!

Seasonal wreaths are always nice. But if you'd rather spice things up a bit this fall why not try a hanging basket on the front door instead? Kristi from Chatfield Court shares her take on front door fall decor with her Fall Front Door Basket.  Don't those golden flowers look just gorgeous against her beautiful blue front door?

If you're tired of that same old, same old fall mantel, check out Brooke of Re-fabbed's Your Not So Traditional Fall Fireplace. No hum-drum oranges and browns here! Brooke uses gorgeous blues, greens and fuschia. Her nontraditional take is like a breath of fresh air!

Succulents take center stage again in this simple, non-fussy fall centerpiece. Lora from Craftivity Designs shows us how she threw together an inexpensive Simple Fall Centerpiece with things she already had on hand. It's always great when you can "shop your house!"

Michelle, a.k.a. Our Crafy Mom, throws together a Rustic Glam Fall Wreath that is to die for. The golds and whites do make for a very "glam" wreath, don't you think?

One saying you'll be seeing a lot of this fall is "Give Thanks."  I think it sums up the season perfectly, and plan on making this Give Thanks Mini Burlap Banner from Lucy at Patina Paradise. She's such a talented artist, and her lovely banner has a real rustic elegance to it. Who knows? I might just get my act together in time to make it before the old Christmas season is upon us!

Once the kitchen is totally finished (almost there!) and all photos have been taken and reveal posts written, I will probably be so exhausted that I'll need to take a blogging vacation! Hope you'll stick with me, I promise you're gonna love it!
