Disclaimer: the cookbook's author is my niece, Ashton Keefe. I know I'm dating myself when I say this, but I remember it all like it was yesterday, when she was just a little girl carving pumpkins for Halloween at her parents' kitchen table. Today she's a talented, successful chef, culinary instructor, food stylist, recipe developer and entrepreneur. And she's graciously agreed to provide a copy of her awesome cookbook for one of my lucky readers! I could go on and on about her and the book but I thought I'd just take it from her blog's About page:

Ashton Keefe is a Manhattan-based chef, culinary instructor and recipe developer specializing in seasonal, vibrant and simple food.

Keefe currently works as a food stylist for NBC’s TODAY show and celebrity chef Giada DeLaurentis and develops recipes for outlets including Cooking Light, People, Real Simple, Shape, Food52, as well as Whole Foods Market. Upon graduating from the Classic Pastry Arts program at The French Culinary Institute, Keefe worked as renowned restaurant critic Gael Greene’s right hand learning the ins and outs of the NYC world scene. She then joined the opening team at Haven’s Kitchen, a sustainable cooking school and events space in Manhattan, as sous chef and lead instructor gaining recognition from The New York Times and Food & Wine.

In 2015, Keefe authored her first cookbook, "Lemon & Salt: A Modern Girl's Guide to Culinary Revelry” in which she received public recognition on The Today Show, Refinery29 and Glitter Guide. Geared toward encouraging millennials to get in the kitchen, the book features more than 50 simple, delicious recipes using acid and salt to develop an understanding of basic cooking techniques.

According to Ashton:

Here it is in my own kitchen, resting beautifully on my DIY iPad Stand. It's so pretty you'll be tempted to leave it out all the time, maybe even on your coffee table!

And here it is on display with my White Farmhouse Shuttered Mirror and white enamelware farmhouse tray. I'll never get tired of looking at it. Now that fall has arrived I can't wait to try Ashton's Apple Tart Tatin recipe! Don't worry, I'll be sure to share it with you when I do!
