Quick and Easy Dollar Tree Valentine's Day Treats

February 10, 2017

Mini gumball machines are the perfect containers for Valentine's Day treats -- they come in red and pink, and they've got that vintage retro vibe going for them.

And while I know I've said I don't "do" Valentine's Day, perhaps I was a bit hasty when I said that.

Last year I actually DID create a Valentine's Day vignette as part of a blogging group challenge. Would I have made one on my own? No. But I did make one. AND I blogged about it. In that post I briefly mentioned that I filled some small plastic "gumball machines" with Valentine's treats.

I thought I'd let you know that this year you can not only get the candy at Dollar Tree, but you can also get the gumball machines there, too! (I've not been compensated in any way by Dollar Tree for this post.)

UPDATE: I've started seeing the adorable gumball machines at Dollar Tree (and sometimes Target's Bullseye Playground) throughout the seasons for various holidays.

If your Dollar Tree doesn't carry the pink or red ones, you can also order them online:

Pack of 6 mini red gumball machines

Pack of 3 pink gumball machines

Sixlet chocolate candy Dollar Tree Valentine's Day

The small, round, red, pink and white candies that fit in them perfectly are called "Sixlets" which are (no surprise here) only $1.25 a bag. The bag is filled with individually wrapped portions of this chocolatey almost-malted-milk ball-tasting candy.

If your Dollar Tree doesn't carry Sixlets you can order these darling pink sixlets online:

Shimmer Bright Pink Sixlets

Sixlet chocolate candy scissors

Just cut the little bags open and . . . .

pour them into the top of the gumball machine.

Then place the top back on and enjoy!

Last year I also filled one with conversation hearts. You can also pickup those at Dollar Tree as well. It's a one stop shop! (Or at Amazon if your Dollar Tree does not have them, link provided.)

Do these little gumball machines bring back memories for you?
They sure do for me!
I just love their retro vintage vibe!

And just think, there are so many sweet treats that would fit into these cute little machines. M&M's, Lemonheads, Red Hots (great for Valentine's Day), actual gumballs and the list goes on and on. They would make great teacher's gifts, too!

Run - don't walk - to your local Dollar Tree and pick yourself up some miniature gumball machines and a favorite sweet treat of your choice. Your Valentine will be very glad you did!

Well, that's it until next time, friends!

These are so cute; did you stockpile any for Christmas snow globe scenes? As a kid, I always wanted a gumball machine; here's my chance!
