I started my dollar store recycle project with this 3-D wooden wall art box. I didn't particularly care for the artwork/graphics on the front, but I KNEW that it had great bones that I could use to make a different sign that was more to my liking.
First, I created my printable graphic in PicMonkey, using a colorful spring wreath and an anonymous quote I've seen all over Pinterest. So the original artwork would not show through, I added an additional piece of blank paper as a buffer.
Then I just placed the two sheets on top of the box, lining it up so that the picture was centered. (I made sure to measure the box first, before I created my graphic. I knew I wanted to hang it vertically, so I purposefully chose an oval wreath that would look good in that position.) Then I just folded the excess paper on either side of the picture so that it was flat against the sides of the box. Add some double sided tape to it and voila.
I think I was right!
I also love the look of the cotton bolls and how they add texture to the vignette.
I know that this printable will brighten my days until the first real signs of spring arrive in my neck of the woods! And it can brighten your days, too!
Just right click on the above image and save to your computer. It's as easy as that!
