Hello, friends! It's time for another Thrill of the Hunt -- and guess what? I've got some items from yet another one of my "coincidental collections" to share with you today! Last week it was vintage salt and pepper shakers. What could it be this week? Read on to find out.
To some this might appear to be a mere porcelain Persian cat figurine.
But there's more to it than that!
It's a collectible Avon perfume bottle from the 1970's. It's empty now, but back in the day it had the cologne "Unforgettable" in it.
As someone who is partial to white, I think this would make a fine collectible. Avon white Persian cat collectible Unforgettable perfume bottle is SOLD.
Yes, this is a collectible Avon after shave bottle.
Have you guessed what it's supposed to be?
If you guessed a chess piece then you're right! It's Avon's The Bishop Chess Piece which once contained Blend 7 After Shave. Who would have thought that there was a chess set made up entirely of now-collectible Avon after shave bottles? Avon Products, Inc. sold these men’s colognes in a select group of opposing chess pieces in the 1970's, at the height of the Bobby Fischer era. Avon's The Bishop Chess Piece Blend 7 After Shave collectible bottle is SOLD.
But it gets even better.
Recognize this one? Yes, she's related.
Look closer.
Could it be The Queen?
Yup, it sure is (even though it doesn't say that)! And she used to contain Avon's Oland After Shave. Avon's The Queen chess piece bottled Oland After Shave is AVAILABLE.
Now this one is pretty cool. Can you guess what make and model it is?
It's also for men's after shave -- Wild Country.
I just really love the look of this car!
It's a classic.
Have you guessed yet? It's a 1955 Thunderbird! Avon's Thunderbird 55 Wild Country collectible after shave bottle is AVAILABLE. I must admit that I like the car better than I do the chess pieces. Personal preference. Maybe it reminds me of all the Hot Wheels collected over the years by my brothers and our son. Plus I think the 1950's is more interesting than the 1970's.
Do you have any favorite perfumes or after shave scents? I've never been a big fan of after shave on my man but I do love certain perfumes. I remember my mom wearing Chanel No. 5. I ended up loving it and wearing it for years. How about you?
Well, that's it until next time, friends!

I used to wear the cream perfumes by Avon way back when. The scents wer lily of the valley and lilac, I believe. They were very subtle.
I remember buying my ex one of the chess pieces. Wild Country, maybe? And the Irish setter bottle as we had one. I loved the little roll on sticks--honeysuckle and lilac comes to mind. And I loved Sweet Honesty as it smelled good on me. Avon made several small animals--your cat, a small standing dog (I have him), an owl I think (a sachet); milk glass, plastic top that discolors. Darn. I'd put a pink or blue satin ribbon on that cat to cover the seam! My godmother was an Avon lady. She got me my first perfume "Buttons and Bows", in a 2-tone pink spray bottle; I was so proud of it. I caught my brother in MY room spraying a fly with MY beloved perfume; I was SOOO mad! And I don't think it killed the fly either!
I loved Avon back in the day. Pretty sure I have a white lamb that had perfume.
