Have you ever run out on an innocent errand and ended up on a thrifting trip? Well I have. And trust me, it's not hard to do! But it's still a nice surprise when it happens. After dropping my daughter off at a restaurant to meet her friend for lunch, I was on my way home when I realized I was driving through a town that I rarely visit. And that town just happened to have a resale shop that I loved! To stop or not to stop? I think you know the answer to that question. Fast forward to my loot.
As a vintage jewelry artist I'm always drawn to vintage bits and bobs with potential for future jewelry making endeavors/creations/designs. Either that or I think it might have resale value in my Etsy shop, Vintage Farmhouse Love. Such was the case with this adorable little girl's charm bracelet.
Its whimsical nature drew me right in. I'm also a sucker for pink pearls.
It's only 5 inches long which is how I can tell it's made for a little girl's wrist. I know it's vintage because it has a narrow foldover clasp which was popular starting in the 1930's and probably through the 1970's (my educated guess).
I also found a lovely porcelain creamer (like I needed another one) with a rose on it. Be still my romantic heart.
The detail is exquisite.
Just the handle alone is beautiful in my book.
Even the back side has a delicate rosebud.
It took me a while to figure out whose maker's mark this is. A bit of sleuthing revealed that it's a Carl Tielsch red rose creamer, made in Germany. Carl Tielsch red rose creamer is AVAILABLE.
These were a great find since I've become obsessed with vintage salt and pepper shakers. They're made of hard plastic, similar to bakelite. I love how the green one looks like jadeite.
Their bases are very ornate.
It's hard to tell from this fuzzy upside down picture but they were made by Superlon in Chicago, probably somewhere around the 1940's or 1950's. Superlon Products Chicago 12 USA salt and pepper shakers are SOLD.

I love pink roses and sugarers and creamers; I have a collection going! I love the delicacy of old china and prefer it to heavy pottery stuff any day! Happy 4th of July!
