Lately I've been crushing on fern wreaths -- they're so delicate and dainty looking. I used mine to create what I call a "statement wreath" as part of my fall decor. All it took was my wreath and some inexpensive Dollar Tree embellishments to create a truly unique and stunning fall wreath.

After picking up my fern wreath from Hobby Lobby at 50% off, I brought it home and absolutely fell in love with it. And while it certainly doesn't need any embellishments, I still felt that I could gussy it up a bit for fall.
In keeping with the simplicity of the wreath I didn't want to overwhelm it. So I started out small. And by small I mean baby boo pumpkins. These Dollar Tree clip-on baby boos have been a godsend to me this fall. I already used them in one of my favorite fall farmhouse DIY cotton boll bouquets, and I knew they were also just the right size to use for this wreath.
Once the baby boos were added, I knew it could still use maybe one more touch of fall. Again, a very inexpensive Dollar Tree embellishment came to the rescue.
In my cotton boll bouquet post I shared with you some metal script letters - Welcome, Thankful and Harvest - that are just perfect for crafting and decor projects this time of year. It was hard to chose which one, but I decided on Thankful.
In keeping with the white pumpkin vibe I painted the metal word with Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint in the color Fluff. It took about 10 minutes total (after sanding it first, applying two coats and dry time) and I think it made a huge difference.
I love how it looks on my estate sale farmhouse china cabinet. The white embellishments really help highlight my ironstone collection.
