Most recently I farm-i-fied my DIY dining room shelves by whitewashing them with a white wash stain from Rust-oleum. I was loving the farmhouse look and styled them accordingly. But as happy as I was with that arrangement, I couldn't help myself when I came across a boatload of lemony decor goodness at my local Dollar Tree.
Ironically, I first saw Dollar Tree's lemon dinnerware on another blog over a year ago. That blogger lived in the southern U.S. So I waited and waited for it to appear in my neck of the woods but finally gave up hope. You can imagine how happy I was to come across it this summer! I did my usual double take as I always do at Dollar Tree, and then began grabbing pieces to put into my cart. While I only took plates and bowls, they also had mugs, wine glasses, place mats, oven mitts and napkins.
In addition to the awesome dinnerware score, I also came across these these buffalo check beauties at Wal-Mart on clearance. Are you ready? They cost $1.50 each. How could I resist? Lemons, topiaries and buffalo check -- a match made in heaven.
I love the look of my faux lemons filling out the arrangement.
And as usual, vintage ironstone and white milk glass plays a huge part in my dining room decor.
The bright yellow really pops and adds a nice touch of color to a space that's usually decorated in neutral tones.
It's now one of those spaces that makes me smile every time I look at it. Not bad for less than $16.00. Have you found this lemon-y goodness in your local Dollar Tree? What about the lemon decor at Wal-Mart? It all really does work well together and for that I am grateful.
Well, that's it until next time, friends!

Love these, Kathleen! Gotta love Dollar Tree!
ReplyDeleteYes, I bought the plate and a towel from the dollar tree. I was so happy to see they had Lemon decor. I also saw the lemon decor at Walmart but I bought different stuff than the picture you show. I purchased a little sign and a tin pot with yellow flowers. I will have to go back and see if there are any pictures left. Love what you did with your lemon decor! I love budget decorating!
ReplyDeleteLove all lemon decor:-))) Beautiful arrangement!
ReplyDeleteI love how the lemon yellow stands out so nicely from the neutrals; I'm a color fan and am enjoying how you style your dining room. The pops of color really make that whole wall shine! I have not styled much from DT or Wal-mart--just kinda stuck in a rut, I guess. I think you got me thinking! Thanx!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of black, yellow, and white together! It's so fresh and pretty for summer, Kathleen!
