Dollar Tree stores are a great go-to spot for many DIY home decor enthusiasts on a budget. Seeing as that's the story of my life, I figured I could share my Dollar Tree insider knowledge with you as I find new and noteworthy Dollar Tree items that you, too, can use to beautify your home. Dollar Tree Treasures #6 includes my favorite Dollar Tree Halloween signs sporting bats, brooms witches and moons as well as an owl and some ghosts thrown in for good measure -- so let's get started!
It all started with our DIY floating farmhouse shelves in the dining room. In case you missed it, I recently shared how I styled them for fall. As much as I loved the fall accents, I knew I wanted to add a touch of tasteful Halloween highlights for the month of October. I kept much of it the same, but for the fun signs I added here and there.
This "Black Hat Society" Halloween sign from Dollar Tree is the first thing I brought home once they started selling Halloween merchandise.
It hangs perfectly from one of the knobs on my farmhouse hutch.
Beneath it I've placed the Dollar Tree "Trick or Treat" wooden banner sign.
Next to the shelves and the buffet I placed my Dollar Tree Halloween "Beware" sign. I was pretty impressed with this one as it's fairly hefty in size and makes a big statement. I've seen signs of this size going for at least $15.00 in other stores.
I also love the detail of the tiny spider and its web at the top.
I love this "Eat, Drink and Be Scary" sign. It's a great shade of orange and the fonts are perfect.
I was really drawn to this "Come In For A Spell" sign. I'm not a fan of really gory Halloween decor so this was just perfect! I also love the farmhouse feel you get from the weathered board-like background.
I actually borrowed this sparkly light up owl from my daughter. It was a Dollar Tree purchase from last year, however, they are still selling it this year as well. While it looks a bit weird lit up in daylight, it looks great at night.
This "Trick or Treat" sign is the counterpart to the "Eat, Drink and Be Scary" sign. Same awesome orange color and cute graphics.
Here's the only $1 item I did not purchase at Dollar Tree. This glittery black bat garland I picked up at Target. It fit the length of my shelves perfectly.
This decoration is a DIY from a few years ago. It's a Halloween tag that you can use on Halloween goodie baskets and/or when you "Boo" someone. If you don't know about "Booing" someone on Halloween you should Google it. I took a kid's playing card shaped like a pumpkin and attached it to a blank card stock tag. I stamped "Boo" on it and called it a day. I've got a number of these tags already made so if you're interested let me know in the comments and I will put them in my Etsy shop, Vintage Farmhouse Love, for purchase.
And while these guys never actually made it up on the wall like I had envisioned they would,I still had to share them. I mean, how cute are ghosts dressed up like witches? They didn't make it up because we have yet to hang the pair of shutters I want to display them on. The problem is that the shutters are SO HEAVY I hesitate to hang them -- even thought they will make the best backdrop for SO MANY seasonal decor elements.Honestly, these ghosts are my absolute favorite of all the Dollar Tree Halloween decor I've purchased this year.
And if so, what did you get? I'd love to know!
I know that not all Dollar Tree stores carry the same merchandise at the same time. Even so, it's my hope that what you read about here in my Dollar Tree Treasures posts will inspire you to keep an eye out for similar items that you can use in your own home or as part of your own DIY decor projects.
Well, that's it for today, friends!
