Welcome
to Dollar Tree Treasures #11: Succulents And Boho Dorm Room Decor! Despite this post's title, the Dollar Tree finds I share here can be used by anyone, anywhere -- not just for students in college dorm rooms.
The finds in this post were picked up before the stay at home order was put into effect here in Illinois. For all I know, some Dollar Tree stores may still have some of this stuff which would be great for you once things really open up! I miss Dollar Tree shopping, don't you?
I darn near squealed when I saw these framed cacti. I was in a Dollar Tree store that I rarely visit and was so glad I stopped in for a look. There were a number of different types of cacti as well as both white and dark wood frames. I loved the assortment, and the fact that they were also in different shapes. I got three for each daughter. They were thrilled.
In a different Dollar Tree store I found these clip-on faux cacti. There were only a few left and I, of course, snagged them right up. The larger ones were sold singularly.
While the smaller sized succulent clips were sold two to a package.
One daughter couldn't wait until next school year -- she used some of the cute faux cacti as decor in her home bedroom now. Her floating shelves were the perfect display space for them! The little green-potted cacti on the right was a Target dollar bin find. The spidery plants on the left are actually air plants.
She also placed some of the clip-on succulents in a white porcelain mug and coupled it with a white triangle-framed cacti.
I think it's a darling, high-end looking way to display the "plants" -- very boho, and just perfect for her room this summer. The shelves were from Five Below and came as a set.
I found this adorable hedgehog porcelain planter in the same Dollar Tree store where I found the clip-on succulents. Ironically, the picture on the box showed it filled with a succulent!
One of my daughters in particular has had a thing for hedgehogs for years, so I was really happy to find it for her!
So of course when I got it home I had to fill it with a some of those faux succulents to see how it would look!
I'm giving the look an A-plus!
Ironically, on the side of the box it shows three other porcelain creature planters -- a turtle planter, a fox planter and a llama planter. Oh how I wished that store carried more than just the hedgehog! One daughter collects foxes and the other one collects llamas. . . . I am hoping against hope that when our stores re-open I can find them in some of the many other Dollar Tree stores in our area.
There are many more Dollar Tree steals out there for the taking. I know that not all Dollar Tree stores carry the same merchandise at the same time. And in this season of #stayathome we all have to do our part to stop the spread of COVID-19 -- so no fun runs to the Dollar Tree!
Even so, it's my hope that what you read about here in my Dollar Tree Treasures posts will inspire you to keep an eye out for similar items that you can use in your own home or as part of your own DIY home decor projects. Hopefully we'll all be able to get back to the things we love, at least in some form, in the not too distant future.
Well, that's it for today, friends!
