Our corner fireplace mantel seemed like the perfect place to display a super-simple 4th of July vignette. My goal was to go for classic and simple. I think I achieved that.
I've had the vintage blue glass Mason jars for years now. They've become my absolute favorite flower vases. And here you can see them filled with white Dollar Tree faux flowers. They were sold in what I'll call the "patriotic" section of the store, along with red flowers as well. But I wanted to keep it simple with just white, knowing I'd be using my blue Mason jars and Dollar Tree flags.
I was so excited to find this Indiana Glass milk glass hen-on-nest candy bowl at the first vintage sale I went to after we opened up a bit here in Illinois. I will be sharing all the details in a future Thrill of the Hunt post for sure. (Not to mention that awesome milk glass candle holder in the background.)
This mini USA license plate was also a Dollar Tree purchase.
The vignette gives me hope, and calm, and pride. I can only hope that it does that for you, too. Happy 4th of July, friends!
Well, that's it until next time, friends!
I hope you enjoyed reading

I liked the simplicity of your mantel vignette. Of course, I am a fellow milk glass lover, and it is hard to beat Fenton Hobnail and a hen on a nest! I don't ordinarily like white flowers but there is a simple purity of yours in the blue jars. The pops of color from the flags is sufficient! Happy Fourth of July! Stay safe!
So pretty.

Your vignette is beautiful, Kathleen, but I must admit I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who doesn't do much decorating for the July 4th holiday. Enjoy your weekend!
