Welcome, friends, to another fun-filled Thrill of the Hunt post where I share my latest thrifty (and usually) vintage finds with you. Today I'm all about hobnail milk glass and vintage chalkware. I'm excited to get started, so here goes!
I've been in love with hobnail milk glass for a long time now. Any time I can find some for a song I get really excited. While we were perusing a furniture thrift store for a dresser for my daughter, I came across these gorgeous hobnail milk glass candlesticks.
It was a real treat because I didn't know the store carried "smalls" like these candlesticks.
It would have been dangerous if they weren't just $2.00! It was a win-win! They're my first set of hobnail candlesticks.
Here's another one of my fave finds -- a vintage hobnail milk glass hen on a nest. I picked it up in a rustic and refined shop in a nearby small town for $15.00.
After doing research on the amber hen I noticed that different hens have different tails. An odd thing to notice, I know. But look at that detail!
Her face and head are also pretty detailed.
The feathers are beautiful, and I love the hobnail rim on the dish.
How perfect is this? What a great place to stash candy!
Both the hen on nest and the candlesticks helped decorate my 4th of July fireplace mantel.
I thought white accessories really worked well for this vignette in conjunction with Dollar Tree flags.
I've shared some Infant of Prague chalk figurines with you in the past in Thrill of the Hunt #24 and Thrill of the Hunt #40. They have, I admit, become a collection. I found this one unexpectedly in a thrift store in a nearby town I was visiting for the first time.
I felt that for $1.99 I couldn't say no.
Some of these figurines go for a hefty price tag while most go for a more modest price. I've yet to figure out why. But that's okay because I'm not in this for the money.
I love setting these figures around the house in unexpected spots. I put this one in a tray in the living room with a vintage scale and plants.
He's in good company with my vintage-inspired Virgin Mary chalkware figurine. Together they create a lovely, calm corner of the living room.
Well, that's it until next time, friends!

Great milk glass finds, Kathleen!
Isn't it wonderful to find favorites in unexpected places? Great finds, Kathleen!
I'm in love with the candlesticks, I would have purchased those, too! Great finds!
Oh how I lOVE your hobnail candle holders! I have several white hobnail pieces myself, and find it so beautiful. But now I'm going to be on the look-out for candle holders!
