I don't know about you, but after our Christmas decor comes down and gets put away the house always seems a bit empty and a little sad. So what better time to think about mixing things up a bit and bringing some color into your winter decor palette? I'd been wanting to try a blue and white color combination for a while now, so I took a chance and jumped right in!
And since I really enjoy creating printables for myself and my readers, I thought that was a great place to start.
I came across a vintage blue botanical framed print at Goodwill back in August and it definitely got me thinking and planning for switching things up a bit around here color-wise. It also prompted me to create my own blueberry botanical and floral printables.
The prints inspired me to pick up these gorgeous blue hydrangeas at Costo
last weekend. I knew they would add to the cheeriness of my new blue and
white artwork now sitting on our
vintage corbel shelf
in the master bedroom. I couldn't think of a better vase to put them in than my large, vintage, blue Ball Mason jar.
I also added my blue and white terra cotta vases with crackle finishes. I picked them up at Michael's on sale last summer. I had originally seen them online somewhere else but they were too expensive for my taste. So I was thrilled to later find them locally. They're made to look vintage and that makes me love them even more! Michael's no longer carries them but I did find a similar blue and white terra cotta vase on Amazon.
I'm excited to redecorate the master bedroom in blue and white, and I've slowly been incorporating the colors into other parts of the house as well. I'll be sharing some of that soon. I'm normally a neutrals girl, but somehow this new color combo's got a hold on me!

These are so lovely, Kathleen! Thanks for sharing!
Very pretty. Happy Tuesday. xoxo
Very Pretty! I especially like the blueberry print as blueberries are a major crop in Maine and one of my faves--made blueberry muffins this week! I have loved my cobalt and milk glass mingled together for years but would love to find some Chinese looking pots/vases inexpensively! I have my collection of blue and white plates lining the soffit over my kitchen cabinets.
Kathleen, I love your botanicals, florals in mason jars, and your blue 7 white crackled jar. Swoon!
