French Farmhouse Tulip Arrangement: Understated Valentine's Day Decor

February 8, 2021

Today I'm sharing a beautiful, natural looking, low key way to decorate for Valentine's Day (or any day) with a shabby chic French farmhouse faux tulip arrangement.

The faux floral arrangement was provided by Nearly Natural. However, all opinions are my own. To read more, please see my disclosure page.

As I mentioned last week, I'm not a huge Valentine's Day decor enthusiast. I prefer to make a more subtle statement than traditional Valentine's Day decorations and crafts you might see in blogland or on Pinterest. And I think I've managed to accomplish that this year with my shabby chic French farmhouse faux tulip arrangement in the master bedroom.

I've always loved tulips. I display them every year throughout spring and especially around Easter time. But they have a natural tendency to droop when placed in water and it seriously drives me crazy. Some say that placing pennies in the water helps. But I found a way around this dilemma after I was contacted by Nearly Natural to review some faux florals from their Valentine's collection

It was an easy choice for me. With spring and Easter on the horizon, and given my penchant for all things French farmhouse, it was a no-brainer. I chose this artificial tulip arrangement and I'm in love. This shabby chic faux tulip arrangement provides the best of both worlds: a little bit of droop -- which makes them appear very natural looking  -- and a lot of fullness, giving them a fresh and lush appearance. Lucky for you their Valentine's collection is on sale for 25% off with free shipping and returns for a limited time!

I placed these metal Xoxo letters inside the pot for a nod to romance and Valentine's Day.

The chippy shabby pot couldn't be more perfect. It is totally  reminiscent of vintage French cache pots and fits in well with my French farmhouse decor. And to be clear, this thing is HUGE! The pot is  8" x 8" x 8" and the arrangement overall is 18" x 22" x 22".

The faux moss adds texture and even more authenticity to the arrangement.

We haven't gotten around to hanging this fabulous French mirror (Christmas present from my husband!) over the fireplace yet, but I thought it might work for now just propped up against it.

I love how the tulips are reflected in the mirror.

For some additional -- yet subtle -- Valentine's mantel decor I added a lamb's ear garland with pink glitter hearts and white LED tapers in brass candlesticks.

I like to think of this corner of the room as my reading nook. A place to journal, pray, and read novels or vintage and home decor magazines.

So what better place to put the chippy shabby cache pot filled with tulips? I placed it on my vintage French provincial side table that was purchased at a flea market and later painted white. I also hung my DIY wood bead Valentine wreath on the mirror.

Honestly, the faux tulip arrangement looked absolutely lovely no matter where I placed it in the room! I also could have put it right on the mantel. Perhaps I'll move it there as Easter approaches. It certainly is nice to daydream about spring while we're in the middle of an arctic blast and back-to-back snow storms!

I am loving the romantic French farmhouse vibe in the master bedroom right now! Thanks to Nearly Natural for the artificial tulip arrangement. It truly adds a breath of fresh air to my understated Valentine's Day decor.

Well, that's it until next time, friends!

Your sweet mantel is so pretty. Love the mirror too. That is such a sweet little corner with your slipcovered chair and the faux fireplace. Super sweet. xoxo

Loved the tulips, but I especially loved the reflection which doubled the size of the bouquet! That mirror was a lovely gift! Your reading corner looks like a lovely serene place. I made some bird nest arrangements in heart shaped baskets last week with sprigs of forsythia. Can't hurry spring in Maine, either!
