Our Hopeful Home: DIY Dollar Tree Paisley Bandana Wreath

Today I'm sharing how to make a blue and white DIY Dollar Tree paisley bandana wreath.

I'm no stranger to making DIY wreaths out of scarves and wire wreath forms from Dollar Tree.

My pride and joy in that department comes in the form of a DIY Dollar Tree fall wreath. Their orange and black buffalo check scarves arrived just in time for fall and I was all over that from a crafty standpoint. I also used some of their awesome faux fall flowers, orange tulle and floral picks (with pumpkins!) as well.

I also made a front door Fourth of July wreath with a Dollar Tree wire wreath form and patriotic Dollar Tree scarves.

That's why, when on a recent trip to Dollar Tree, when I saw these traditional bandanas in packages of two -- one blue bandana and one white bandana each, I knew I had to buy them. I bought 4 packages, totaling 8 bandanas.

The blue and white color combo has been a fave of mine for a hot minute now. So I was thrilled when I found these. And the fact that you got TWO bandanas for a dollar made it all the more special.

It also gave me an opportunity to showcase some other Dollar Tree decor items I picked up recently. Can you guess which ones they are? I'll share at the bottom of the post so be sure to read to the end!

How To Make A Bandana Wreath

You'll need the following supplies:

Dollar Tree 14" metal wreath form

1. A Dollar Tree 14" wire wreath form. I got mine from Dollar Tree, but if you can't get one there you can always pick one up from Amazon. You can also use any size wire wreath form you prefer. Just be sure to buy enough scarves or bandanas to make it all the way around your wreath form.

2. Scarves or bandanas of your choice.

3. Faux florals and/or greens (optional). Dollar Tree is great for these.

4. Ribbon for decoration as well as for hanging (optional).

5. Safety pins to secure the material onto the back of the wreath form.

Steps For Making A Bandana Wreath

1. Fold the bandana in half, then in half again.

Whichever side you allow to face out as you wrap the bandana around the wreath form will be the predominant pattern on your wreath. I chose side #1 to face out for both my blue and my white bandanas.

I have to admit that I wasn't very particular when it came to wrapping the scarves around the wreath form. I just folded the scarves in half (twice) and then began wrapping.

I didn't even thread the bandana through the wire rings. I merely wrapped it around the outside of the wreath form, and then threaded the last small piece of the bandana through the wires, where I held it in place with my hand until I could cover it with the next bandana.

Here's a view from the back side of the wreath.

I threaded this small tail through the wires and then covered it with the next (white) bandana and continued wrapping. When I was finished I looked for any loose ends on the back side of the wreath and secured them with small safety pins.

And here's the finished product. Again, I wasn't particularly fussy about how I wrapped the bandanas around the wreath form. Since it's not permanent, you can always unwind the scarves/bandanas and start again!

You can also add faux floral stems and/or ribbon and bows to your wreath. Right now I'm loving the simplicity of this one. Maybe I'll add some flowers in the fall.

I can't tell you how much I fell in love with this simple wreath. My love of blue and white has not waned, and this wreath did not disappoint. And it was so easy!
