Today I'm sharing our fall bedroom decor reveal. It really doesn't take much to inject a real fall feel into things -- always for less (of course)!
The master bedroom's main color scheme, on a normal day, is mainly blue and white.
One way to make changing the overall look a bit easier is to use a white quilt or coverlet (depending on the season) as a neutral background upon which you can then create your personalized look for the seasons. It's amazing what you can do with some colorful pillows and a few throw
blankets!
Having our refurbished farmhouse corbel shelf above the bed gives me the perfect place to create seasonal vignettes. I set up my two favorite lanterns (with lamb's ear
and mini pumpkins) as well as a faux heirloom pumpkin and Autumn sign sitting atop another stack of deconstructed books. Then I
added a golden leaf garland for a pop of fall color.
The far side of the room is also fun to decorate - thanks to our salvaged DIY fireplace.
My vintage-inspired wooden cathedral arches on the mantel play a big role in the display, as I try to include them in most vignettes.
The mantel has been anchored by deconstructed book bundles and colorful fall floral picks.
I was thrilled when I found these blue leafy floral picks with pumpkins and berries at Dollar Tree. While the color blue isn't traditionally linked to "fall" decor, I thought if I mixed them with the cream colored ones I could create a lovely fall bouquet for the master bedroom. I shared how I made the deconstructed book bundle in How To Make Hand-Stamped Book Bundles.
And it just so happened that I had the perfect vintage-inspired blue and white porcelain vases to display the bouquets in.
This framed thrift store botanical print entitled "April" could not be more well-suited to the fall vibe. The colors, the vintage feel . . . . just perfect as the centerpiece on my fall mantel.
I've kept these tall arched wooden window frames on this mantel for years because they look right at home with whatever else I put there!
Overall, I believe the vignette creates a calming effect and I love it.
Well, that's it for today, friends!
