Welcome, friends, to another fun-filled Thrill of the Hunt
post where I share my latest thrifty (and usually) vintage
finds with you.
My hope is that by sharing my thrifty finds I can motivate and inspire you to explore your own local thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets and barn sales and make your own fabulous finds for yourself. So let's get started
Today I'm sharing some fall finds. I tried to stay away from a recent pop-up estate sale but . . . . . the person who runs it 4-5 times a year now CALLS ME in advance to remind me so I won't miss it! Very nice of her but very dangerous for me lol.
I first laid eyes on this beauty. I can't explain it, but I'd been longing for one of these super-sized acorns for my fall decor -- and there it was!
I had seen similar ones for sale online selling for $19.99 and up. I found one selling for $42.99. Identical, I kid you not.
I got mine for $6.00. I love it! And it's huge! It's 9" x 5" and lends a real presence to any vignette.
I thought it looked darling on the mantel next to my wicker "pumpkin" basket with lid.
But its real home is here on the dining room sideboard, in a basket, nesting with some giant sugar pine cones.
The precious graphics are on both sides of it. It really does look vintage!
I think it would also look cute with a fall flower arrangement placed inside of it. (Sorry I'm too lazy to actually SHOW you that right now lol but trust me on this.)
And here's the pride and joy of my fall finds -- a French copper colander with brass feet.
Since copper cookware is so expensive I don't own many pieces. So when I saw this copper colander at Goodwill I snatched it right up.
I had fun using it in a fall vignette with my copper Moscow mule mugs. Say that fast three times:)
I love using natural elements, like this boxwood wreath, limes and pine cones, to decorate for the season.
And did I mention that I paid all of $2.99 for the colander?
The Moscow mule mugs have been collected over the past few years. Most recently I picked one up at Target's Dollar Spot for $5.00.
It makes me happy to be able to bring together my thrifty finds and create such lovely home decor accents on a budget. Stick with me and I promise I'll show you the thrifting world that awaits each and every one of us, one day at a time!!
So which one of my fall finds is your favorite?
Well, that's it for today, friends!
I hope you've enjoyed reading about
and that I've inspired you in some way.

So pretty! Love all of it! laura in Colorado
Love that sweet little colander with the brass feet. That was a great find. It is true you really have to shop when you are looking for a specific items because the prices can be all over the place. Your great find at $6 for the acorn is so pretty in your display. Have a great rest of the week. xoxo Kris
Hi! Caty from Ft.Myers Florida. Loved your take on cleaning copper kitchen items. The bowl you cleaned looked great. If you think you might be leaning towards a copper collection. I remember reading that three of any like items can constitute a collection! I have many collections consisting of three items. I have many collections!
Thanks for sharing.
