I stalk the faux plants and wreaths section at Goodwill, like, every time I go there. Sometimes I score and sometimes I don't. This time I scored.

Will you look at this? It's a faux MAGNOLIA WREATH!

I've known many bloggers from the southern U.S. who blog about how how easy it is to make your own magnolia wreath with the real thing -- fresh magnolia leaves. Well, that ain't happenin' here in the midwest so . . . . I was thrilled to find this faux magnolia wreath. 

 

I got it at Goodwill. And if you can believe this, the original Hobby Lobby price tag of $49.99 was still on it. It is prices like that I can not believe are for real. I know Hobby Lobby frequently offers 40% off, but even with that discount the magnolia wreath would cost $29.99. Seriously? (The one in the above pic was actually 50% off.)

 

But what did I pay? $7.99. Which for me is a lot for a thrift store wreath, but I've wanted one of these wreaths for a long time. I even tried to make my own with faux magnolia wreath -- but it was a huge craft fail.   

 

I can't wait to embellish this wreath for the seasons! It's like a huge blank canvas just waiting for me to decorate it.

 

I did the happy dance when I saw this on a shelf at Goodwill for $1.99. It ticked off all the boxes: Porcelain? Check. Blue and white? Check. Chinoiserie? Check.

I'll most likely display this little beauty alone on a shelf or a table, but I could just as easily use it to store small items, like earrings or even loose change for that matter.

Or maybe even tiny blue Christmas ornaments. Who knows?

This past Labor Day weekend we visited a vintage market in Holland, Michigan. While I've already shared the amazing vintage amber bottle I purchased there, I also got something else I had always wanted: a vintage sugar mold.

I had passed over many vintage sugar molds over the years due to the expense. This vintage sugar mold, however, was reasonably priced. So I happily snatched it up.

The ones that I'd seen previously were all made of dark wood. This one had a light white coat of paint on it that I absolutely LOVED. Here it sits on my DIY Rustic Corbel French Farmhouse Shelf, filled with baby boo pumpkins, flanked by sugar pine cones.

I originally placed it on a dining room sideboard along with my DIY chunky yarn pumpkin vignette, but in the future I know I'll use it for many other seasonal decor displays over the coming years. Maybe mini bottle brush trees for a Christmas display, perhaps? Or small pots of succulents, or maybe mini vases filled with garden flowers for a summer display? The possibilities are endless.
