Our Hopeful Home: How To Decorate A Magnolia Wreath For Christmas

Today I'm sharing how to decorate a magnolia wreath for Christmas.

Recently, in Thrill of the Hunt #120, I shared this faux Hobby Lobby magnolia wreath that I found at Goodwill for $7.99. And while I love it "as is," I also knew I could easily and inexpensively decorate it for Christmas, taking it to the next level.

So what did I use to create that Christmas vibe? Just two things: bells and berries.

Bells have become a huge Christmas thing over the past few years. Sleigh bells, cow bells, you name it. Last year I purchased some sleigh bells to use in my farmhouse Christmas decor. This year I'm focusing more on the cow bell-type bells.

Many months ago I came across a picture of a huge cedar Christmas wreath on someone's front door, with three really huge cow bells hanging from it. And I fell in love. I couldn't get the picture out of my mind.

So I was on the look out for affordable cow bells. Never thought I'd find some while waiting in line at T.J. Maxx. I don't normally shop at T.J. Maxx so I was glad that I stopped in that day. I just knew they belonged hanging inside a wreath.

But it needed something more. So I picked up the fabulous sugary red berries at Dollar Tree and the gold berries at Target.

I absolutely fell in love with these frosted red berries. Once I added them into the mix I knew I hit the right combination.

I just twisted a few bunches of berries onto the bells.

Then I popped some gold berries here and there until I liked the look.

Is this not gorgeous?

And the best news? Nothing is permanent (no glue involved!) so I can completely reimagine this wreath again after the holidays. I'm loving it now and couldn't be happier with it.
