Repurposed Fabric Gift Bags

April 22, 2022

Today I'm sharing a creative way to repurpose inexpensive Dollar Tree fabric gift bags.

How To Repurpose Fabric Gift Bags

Voila 3 piece fabric gift bags from Dollar Tree

When I picked up this little 3-piece packet of fabric gift bags at my local Dollar Tree I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. I just knew that I'd find a fun way to repurpose the bags (as opposed to just using them for "gifting" something). And I knew I loved the blue and white striped pattern because it reminded me of "ticking" fabric (which screams vintage to me).

Initially I considered using small jars and filling them with flowers, until I realized that I already had the perfect dried flower arrangements for this project. Ironically, these sweet purple flower arrangements wrapped in burlap were also a Dollar Tree purchase from a few years ago. They must have been popular because I think they still carry them every spring! I will, however, be using small jars filled with fresh flowers from my flower garden for this project come summer.

Lucky for me the little purple flower arrangements fit perfectly into the blue ticking gift bags.

Talk about a sweet spring floral arrangement.

It's no surprise I fell in love with these little gift bags since they're sporting my favorite color combination -- blue and white. I knew they'd look great on my living room mantel next to my ginger jar collection.

I'm glad the real thing ended up looking like I thought it would.

Since buying the little bags, I've noticed that Dollar Tree sells other similar little gift bags with different patterns on them. So if you're not a fan of blue and white ticking, perhaps they have some different patterns at a store near you!

Well, that's it for today, friends!

So cute! These would be easy to sew, too--even from small scraps! I love how these tie in with your blue and white--one of my favorite color schemes, too! Kathy A
