My hope is that by sharing my thrifty finds I can motivate and inspire you to explore your own local thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets and barn sales and make your own fabulous finds for yourself. So let's get started.
My husband gave me a Goodwill gift card for my birthday back in February. Yes, I did a happy dance. And here is one of the first things I bought with it. An Anchor Hocking hobnail milk glass trumpet vase.
I've become enamored of hobnail milk glass over the last few years, so I was very excited to find this beauty for $2.99. It's currently for sale on Etsy for $22.95.
Right now it looks lovely filled with some spring-y faux tulips.
I was super happy to add it to my collection of hobnail milk glass, including my hobnail milk glass candlesticks.
And a hobnail milk glass hen on nest. You can read about both of them in Thrill of the Hunt #101.
I also picked up this pointy hobnail milk glass sugar bowl and creamer set that I shared in Thrill of the Hunt #97.

I especially love this tall French urn planter that I transformed into fall decor. There are other urn planters I've collected through the years and I love them all.
Like this cement urn I picked up at Goodwill for $2.99. It was filled with waxy faux tulips, but I pulled them out and added my own faux pink ranunculus. You can read about it in Thrill of the Hunt #117.
The last thrifty find I want to share today is a gorgeous metal lamp with awesome patina I got from Goodwill for $2.99. I love its French-y vibe and how it looks on my DIY Vintage French Farmhouse Clock Table.
I also found the lamp shade at Goodwill on a different day (also for $2.99) and I'm using it for the time being until I can find a better one. Lamp shades can be so expensive! I'm on the hunt for a neutral colored drum shade that doesn't cost a fortune. Wish me luck.
Once I find a better fitting lampshade you'll be able to see even more of the lamp's gorgeous details up toward the top.
I had previously fallen in love with a similar lamp that costs, ahem, $196.00. Granted, the base itself is a bit different, but the metal work is in the same vein in my book. I'm toying with painting mine white like this one. What do you think? To paint or not to paint?

What a pretty milk glass collection!
I liked your lamp the way it is. I also love a verdigris finish and have given lots of stuff a black wash finished by dry brushing with copper (and sometimes bronze), teal, and a bit of lime green. I would dry brush your beigey urn with white--then you can pair it with either ivory or white. I am a milk glass addict and ALWAYS keep an eye out for it. Many dealers don't treasure it and I often find it reasonably priced. Sometimes not! Kathy A

I too love milk glass! That vase is unusual - a great piece for sure. I love that lamp - such a great finish yes but I also love the unusual shape and details on it. I usually find all of my lamp shades at GW too!
