I've found yet another thing to collect. Copper kitchen cookware has become a thing for me. The older the better, however, I'm not immune to picking up some newer brass cookware that's out there these days.
Most recently I stumbled upon this darling copper two-handled bowl at one of my favorite local vintage haunts for $9.00.
If I hadn't had a gift certificate I wouldn't have bought it for that price, but I did have one so it sealed the deal for me.
Along the same lines, I picked up this very tarnished vintage French copper pot at Goodwill for $9.99.
For me to pay that price at Goodwill for anything should tell you something.
I knew that vintage copper cookware elsewhere was going for a high price, so the $9.99 seemed reasonable. While I still haven't cleaned it, I plan on doing just that by following my instructions on How To Polish Copper Cookware.
And I'm still in love with blue and white porcelain. That's how I ended up with this antique German blue and white and gold creamer, part of a set, for $1.99.
The gold lettering is very worn, however, I can tell it says "Souvenir - Moline, IL."
I'm not worried that the sugar bowl is missing, since I bought the creamer as a vase anyway! It'll be just perfect for my lilliputian zinnias! AND it goes with all my other blue and white porcelain pieces.
On the bottom there's a maker's mark in gold that says Germany. Unfortunately I was unable to determine what company the mark stands for.
Last but not least is this unusual blue and white donut hole teapot my daughter picked up at Goodwill. She texted me a picture of it and asked if I was interested for $2.99. Of course I said yes.
I researched it online and saw it being offered on eBay and Etsy for as much as $32.50.
While it was missing its lid I didn't care because I already knew that it would be used as a vase for my summer garden flowers.
Who ever heard of a donut teapot? I hadn't, but I'm glad I have one now.
Well, that's it for today, friends!
I hope you've enjoyed reading about
and that I've inspired you in some way.

That donut tea pot is adorable. I had never heard of those. Have a great rest of the week.

I love seeing what you've found, Kathleen. The donut teapot is adorable, but the blue on that creamer is gorgeous! I can't wait to see what you find next!
It's a good thing we CAN'T go thrifting together--we love so many of the same things! There would be wailing and gnashing of teeth in the middle of a thrift store! I love blue and white china, cobalt and milk glass, and copper--and using odd containers for short-stemmed flowers, too! Great finds--as usual! Love seeing your treasures; you always style them so nicely, too! Kathy A
It could be a new reality show - Extreme Thrifting! LOL
