Thrill of the Hunt #129: Blue and White Series #2

September 26, 2022

Welcome, friends, to another fun-filled Thrill of the Hunt post where I share my latest thrifty (and usually) vintage finds with you.

My hope is that by sharing my thrifty finds I can motivate and inspire you to explore your own local thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets and barn sales and make your own fabulous finds for yourself. So let's get started.

mini sized blue and white porcelain creamer pink hydrangea

I'm starting things off with the least impressive item, although I do love it and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

I found this tiny blue and white creamer at Goodwill for 99 cents. I knew right away what a great zinnia vase it would make in the summer.

There was no maker's mark but that's ok, as I've said many times over about other thrifty finds. I'm just happy with the joy it brings! And it fits in quite nicely with all of my other blue and white dinnerware and porcelain pieces.

Next up are these two large blue and white porcelain vases that my oldest daughter bought for me at a local yearly neighborhood yard sale near her university. She saw them and she knew I would love them. And she was right.

These didn't have any maker's mark either but again that's ok. I love them because: well, look at them(!) and because my daughter got them for me.

I've placed them next to my DIY Faith Can Move Mountains deconstructed book bundle.

blue white Swinnerton bowl

Last but not least is a gift I received from said daughter for Mother's Day. She went out of her way to look for a "blue and white" piece that she thought I would love. And she succeeded.

Transferware is always a favorite. Whether blue, brown or red, I'm inclined to collect it!

It's a Swinnerton's Silverdale 9" vegetable bowl made in Staffordshire England.

And for $5.50 it was a steal. I've seen it for sale on ebay for as much as $41.00.

Which one of my latest blue and white china pieces is your favorite?

Well, that's it for today, friends!
