Fall Bedroom And Mantel Decor

This year's fall mantel in the bedroom was inspired by a beautiful art print I purchased at a local vintage emporium. I was so moved by the fall colors in the print I just had to buy it.

For the past few years I've decorated the primary bedroom in anticipation of fall, my absolute favorite season.

This year I was inspired specifically by an art print I came across at a local vintage shop. Once I hung that print it all fell into place. I hung it smack dab in the middle of the cathedral arches on the faux fireplace.

The warm colors of the print - golds, greens and browns - definitely give off fall vibes, and the gold frame compliments those colors beautifully.

Beneath the fall art print I've displayed our framed wedding invitation from 1995. Its warm hunter green mat and gold frame contribute nicely to the overall fall feel.

Continuing the palette, I chose gold taper candles for my Thrift Store Candelabra which I recently transformed with some elbow grease and white paint.

Another faux orange pumpkin provides a nice pop of fall color.

No fall mantel would be complete without an amber bottle or two filled with fall-colored dried cone flowers. These are from last summer's garden. I dried and saved them knowing I'd be displaying them this fall in my amber bottle vase. A gold framed mirror, some faux pumpkins, lamb's ear garland and an orange spiral candle all come together as part of the warm fall palette.

Moving on from the mantel, I chose to decorate the bed in gold and blue -- a somewhat nontraditional color combo for fall, but one I feel works for me.

I don't know what says fall louder than a cozy throw blanket in an autumnal color, like this super soft golden throw.

In addition to the golden throw, I added a gorgeous embroidered pillow to the wingback chair that sits in my reading nook corner of the bedroom.

Again, a small pop of fall color is all this corner needs.

I've placed my DIY hand-stamped book bundle on the painted side table. The thrift store DIY hanging candle chandelier sits behind the chair.

And to think that it all started with a picture!

  4. Kathleen, LOVE the new print you found! I love changing out art prints in my home seasonally, and Ima take that one from you if I ever visit, lol. Your invitation is a wonderful memory to have, and you're right, is season perfect. So are all the other little things you've added. I love textiles for the season too.

  6. I loved your print. I am a Monet fan but tend to like most Impressionist paintings. Those fall colors are great. I always love how you style things. And watching you turn thrifted treasures into high end looking decor is so much fun! Kathy A
