Have you ever used something considered non-traditional as seasonal decor? I have. And this Christmas I did it again by using a wooden farmhouse grape carrier as Christmas decor. It's always fun to think outside the box when it comes to Christmas decorating!
Not only did I use the wooden fruit carrier -- I also used the split wood produce picking boxes that came along with it.
I picked up this vintage wooden California table grapes carrier at an antique mall many years ago. I loved its look, and it came with 9 wooden produce picking boxes (also referred to as berry boxes)! I knew I could find ways to use it in my seasonal decor, so home it came.
The label on the side of the carrier reads California Table Grapes, grown and packed by Vignolo Farms, 571 No. Front Street. I looked them up and they're still growing grapes in Bakersfield, CA (since 1938). Based on that information, and the worn and faded look of the label on the carrier, I'd say it's vintage for sure.
I had fun filling it with faux greens, white birch logs and sleigh bells hanging on a gorgeous velvet rope.
Well, that's it for today, friends!
