There's nothing I love more than the thrill of the hunt, and coming home from a thrifting excursion with beautiful treasures. Oh wait -- there is something else I really love: finding new and innovative ways to use those beautiful finds in my home.
Yes, that's pretty much my mantra in a nutshell! And today I'm sharing three ways to style a thrifted vintage sugar bowl.

On a recent Goodwill thrifting trip I came across this lovely porcelain sugar bowl. Of course I was drawn in by the blue and white. But I was also enamored of its fine detailing.
Both the bowl and the lid are covered with a delicate bas relief pattern.
And the lid has a beautiful, delicate flower on top, with fully carved leaves attached.
The sugar bowl's maker's mark reveals the following: Hutschenreuther Selb Bavaria Germany Dresden 2. The company was created in 1814 and shut down in 1969. So my sugar bowl can't be younger than 55 years old. Upon some research I found this same sugar bowl on Replacements.com for $35.99. The discontinued pattern name is Dresden Blau.
So what are some ways to style this a vintage sugar bowl? I started with a holiday candy display.

I've been loving the sugar bowl displayed in various spots around the house, most recently on the living room coffee table. And with Easter coming in just a few days I decided to fill the sugar bowl with Starburst jelly beans!
While I love the Original Flavor Starburst Jelly Beans, you can also get the Starburst Fave Reds Jelly Beans (my kids' favorites) or even Starburst Jelly Bean Duos!
And once Easter is in the rear view mirror you can bet I'll fill it with my favorite hard candies - Lemonheads! Hershey's Kisses would also be a great bowl filler.
Another way to display a beautifully patterned sugar bowl as spring decor is to fill it with a faux robin's nest filled with speckled blue eggs.
Good Morning Kathleen. Love your find. The sugar bowl is so cute and I love it with the nest inside. You find the greatest treasures. Have a great week. Hugs. Kris
